The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is pleased to invite you to the closing conference of the project "Europe on the Balkans: A Common Future", implemented by the Agency with the support of the European Commission..

The conference will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:30 AM in Albena Resort, Bulgaria.

The topics to be discussed include the new elements in the Cohesion Policy of the European Union for the 2021-2027 period and the results achieved from 2014 to 2020.

With this initiative, BTA aims to inform the general public and encourage open dialogue about the Cohesion Policy, its local impact, and the implementation of the political priorities of the European Union.

From December 2023 to August 2024, BTA has organized discussions at its Press Clubs in Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kazanlak, Kardzhali, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Samokov, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, and Yambol, as well as cross-border conferences in Belgrade, Bosilegrad, Bucharest, Edirne, Skopje, and Thessaloniki.

ABOUT BTA


BTA

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is an independent national news organization of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Under the BTA Act:

(1) BTA, acting in the best interests of the public and of the State and conforming to the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian News Agency Act, exercises discretion in determining the content of its newsgathering and news-distributing operation and assumes responsibility for this operation.

(2) BTA is independent in the implementation of its operation and is accountable to the National Assembly.

BTA was established by a decree issued by Prince Ferdinand I in 1898. It put out its first newsletter on February 16 the same year.

BTA is a member of the European Alliance of News Agencies, whose statute stipulates that only one news agency per country is admitted. The Association of the Balkan News Agencies - Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE) is headquartered in Bulgaria.

BTA exchanges information with the global news agencies and with a number of national news agencies.
